What is ESD gate? And what is it used for?
An ESD gate, also known as an Electrostatic Discharge gate, is a security measure implemented at entrance points to minimize the risk of damaging sensitive electronic equipment due to human body static electricity. It provides a controlled path for electrostatic discharge to safely dissipate, preventing it from being discharged into the electronic equipment.
ESD gates can be equipped with additional features like walk-through metal detector or biometric devices for multiple purposes. These features can detect prohibited items, such as weapons or explosives, ensuring enhanced security. They can also identify and deny entry to unauthorized individuals, providing access control.
