Fuhoutang, the former residence of Zeng Guofan, is located in Heye Town (formerly Xiangxiang), Shuangfeng County. It was built in the fourth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1865).
The entire building resembles a Beijing courtyard structure, including the Banyuetang in front of the gate, the gate tower, the main building of Babentang and the three collection buildings of Gongji, Puji, and Fangji, the lotus pond, the bird crane tower in the back mountain, the chess pavilion, and the cunpu pavilion. There is also the Siyun Pavilion built by Zeng Guofan himself in the 7th year of Xianfeng. It has a garden style, covering an area of more than 40,000 square meters and a building area of 10,000 square meters.
